Pick your diffusion.
Start at 1.5-stop for more punch; swap to 2.5-stop when you need extra wrap and softer speculars. Expect ~1 stop more loss with the heavier cloth.
Control spill.
The 40° grid tightens the beam and deepens contrast—handy for keeping light off backgrounds in small sets. Angle the dome slightly off-axis to avoid flat portrait lighting.
Flat-pack advantage.
The speed ring folds flat; keep it on the stand between setups so you can collapse, move, and pop back open quickly on company moves.
Match source size to distance.
At closer distances the 60 cm dome gives soft wrap; if you must back the light up for framing, consider a larger modifier or add fill to maintain softness.
