Blazar Remus 1.5x Anamorphic

Compact full-frame anamorphic primes with a constant 1.5× squeeze for scope width, oval bokeh and silver streak flare. Our EF & PL set covers 33/45/50/65/85/100/125 mm, with unified mechanics (80 mm fronts, 77 mm filters, ~150° focus rotation) that keep swaps fast on gimbal or handheld. T-stops span T1.8–T4.0 with a consistent, intercut-friendly look.

Overview

  • 1.5× squeeze, full-frame (36×24 mm) coverage across the line.
  • Our focals: 33/45/50/65/85/100/125 mm (EF & PL).
  • Typical T-stops: 33 mm T1.8; 45/50/65 mm T2.0; 85/100 mm T2.8; 125 mm T4.0.
  • Unified mechanics: 80 mm front, 77 mm filter, ~150° focus rotation.
  • Lightweight (~720–820 g per lens, model-dependent) — gimbal-friendly.
  • Signature silver streak flare across the set; consistent look from wide to tele.
  • Constant look from wide to tele for easy intercutting.
  • Close focus as short as 0.49 m on the 33 mm.

Use Cases

  • Scope-ratio interviews, branded content and narrative where a compact anamorphic set speeds moves.
  • Handheld/gimbal builds needing matched fronts/gear and low mass.
  • Product/insert work that benefits from relatively short minimum focus.

Frame for delivery.
Shooting on 3:2 lands close to 2.39:1 after 1.5× de-squeeze; on 16:9 you’ll get ~2.8:1—plan crop/pillarbox accordingly.

Silver vs amber.
Silver flare renders a cooler, higher-contrast streak that stays clean under white practicals; it won’t warm highlights like amber coatings—handy for neutral art direction.

Aim for controlled streaks.
Place practicals just off-axis to draw a single clean line; flag the lens edge or add a low-profile eyebrow if you see multi-streaks on wider focals.

Exploit close focus.
The 33 mm can get to ~0.49 m—great for dynamic inserts without dioptres; note longer MFDs on the 85/100/125 mm.

Keep swaps fast.
Standard 80 mm/77 mm geometry and ~150° throws let you pre-mark motor and matte-box positions for the whole set.

Gimbal discipline.
Pre-balance for two families (short vs long) and note plate marks; the sub-1 kg weights play nicely with compact heads.

Aspect previews.
If the camera lacks a 1.5× mode, set your monitor to 1.5× and overlay a 2.39:1 frame line to match delivery.
