A compact 2-lens anamorphic set with a constant 2× squeeze and a consistent T2 across both focal lengths. This Silver Flare pairing (35mm + 60mm) gives oval bokeh, low focus breathing and a long 300° focus throw for controlled pulls. The Silver version keeps streaks neutral and can shift colour depending on the light source, which makes it a useful “default” anamorphic flavour.
Overview
- 2× constant squeeze for classic anamorphic framing and bokeh.
- T2 max aperture on both lenses (35mm + 60mm).
- Silver Flare look: neutral streaks; flare colour can shift with the source.
- Low focus breathing and unified cine mechanics (0.8 mod gears, back focus adjustment).
- 300° focus rotation for precise marks.
- Standardised fronts: 105mm.
- Available in PL or EF.
Use Cases
- Wider anamorphic frames where you still want obvious 2× cues and controlled streaks.
- Projects that need neutral flare that won’t dictate the palette.
- Handheld/dolly work where low breathing helps keep compositions stable.
| Focal Length | Aperture | Close focus | Front Diameter | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35mm | T2 | 55 cm | 1’10” | 105 mm | 2.4 Kg |
| 60mm | T2 | 70 cm | 2’4″ | 105 mm | 2.4 Kg |
Monitor with 2× de-squeeze.
Add a 2.39:1 frame line so you’re composing for delivery, not the squeezed image.
Silver flare control.
Treat Silver as “neutral”: it plays nicely with mixed practicals. If streaks get too present, flag the lens edge and avoid grazing sources.
Use dioptres when you need tighter detail.
35mm focuses to 0.55m; 60mm to 0.7m – a dioptre is the quickest way to push closer while keeping the anamorphic feel consistent.
Exploit the long focus throw.
300° is there to be used – mark pulls and let the mechanics do the work, especially at T2.
