Leveling Precision
Always ensure the slider is perfectly level using its adjustable feet (if equipped) or shims. Any tilt will cause the camera to drift and affect the shot’s smoothness.

Support Stability
Mount the slider on stable supports appropriate for your camera weight. Heavy-duty tripods or stands on either end will prevent sag and wobble during movement.

Friction Control
Experiment with the adjustable friction control on the slider carriage. This allows you to fine-tune the resistance for your desired speed and feel of movement, from loose glides to more controlled pushes.

Smooth Pushing Technique
Practice a consistent, gentle push or pull. Avoid sudden jerks at the start or end of the movement to achieve seamless, cinematic glides.

Cleaning the Rails
Regularly check the slider rails for any dust or debris before use. Keeping them clean is essential for maintaining the smooth, frictionless movement that Ronford-Baker sliders are known for.
