DJI Focus Pro is a modular focus system combining LiDAR-assisted autofocus with traditional manual lens control. The All-In-One Combo includes the LiDAR, Grip, Motor and Hand Unit, allowing solo operators or focus pullers to work with manual cinema lenses more efficiently. It supports AMF, FIZ control and wireless operation, with a 20m LiDAR range and 76,800 ranging points.
Overview
- Complete system with LiDAR, Grip, Motor and Hand Unit.
- LiDAR-assisted Automated Manual Focus (AMF) for manual cinema lenses.
- 20m LiDAR sensing range with 76,800 ranging points for more accurate subject detection.
- Built-in camera and subject recognition for people and vehicles.
- Supports wireless focus, iris and zoom (FIZ) control with the Hand Unit.
- Hand Unit offers adjustable magnetic damping for a more familiar focus-pulling feel.
- Works as a standalone focus system or as part of the wider DJI PRO ecosystem.
- Compatible with manual cinema lenses using standard 0.8 MOD gearing.
Use Cases
- Converting manual cinema lenses into LiDAR-assisted autofocus setups.
- Wireless focus pulling on handheld, tripod, shoulder or gimbal builds.
- Small crews where one operator may move between autofocus assistance and manual control.

Calibrate each lens properly.
Accurate end-stop calibration is important for reliable focus mapping, especially when using manual cinema lenses with the LiDAR system.
Mount the LiDAR close to the optical axis.
Keeping the LiDAR aligned closely with the lens helps reduce parallax and gives the system a better reference for subject distance.
Use AMF as a bridge between autofocus and manual control.
AMF lets the system assist with focus while still giving the operator tactile feedback and manual override, which can be useful on moving subjects.
Set motor torque carefully.
Older or stiffer lenses may need more torque, but start lower and increase only as needed to avoid unnecessary strain on the focus mechanism.
Use the Hand Unit when you want a dedicated focus puller.
The Hand Unit communicates with the motor at distances up to 160m and supports focus, iris and zoom control.
Store lens profiles when possible.
The Grip can store calibration data for multiple lenses, which helps speed up repeated builds with the same lens set.
Keep line of sight in mind.
The quoted 160m Hand Unit range is a maximum figure. Real-world performance will vary depending on interference and physical obstructions.
