The Godox KNOWLED F800R is a large 4×4 flexible RGB LED mat designed for powerful soft-light setups on location or in the studio. It delivers up to 900W, covers 1800-10000K with green/magenta adjustment, and supports CRMX, DMX/RDM, Art-Net, sACN and Bluetooth control. Its foldable, lightweight head and IP54 construction make it practical for large overheads and demanding production environments.
Overview
- Large 4×4 flexible RGB LED mat with a 1221 x 1221mm light surface.
- Wide 1800-10000K CCT range for matching tungsten, daylight and more extreme colour temperatures.
- -100% to +100% green/magenta adjustment for fine colour matching.
- Maximum power of 900W, with quoted output of 24,200 lux at 1m at 5600K.
- High colour accuracy with CRI 96+ and TLCI 97+.
- Flexible, foldable light body weighing about 3kg, useful for overheads, ceilings and awkward surfaces.
- Professional control options including DMX512/RDM, LumenRadio CRMX, Ethernet with Art-Net and sACN, plus Bluetooth app control.
- IP54-rated light head and controller for improved protection against dust and water on location.
Use Cases
- Large overhead or top-light setups where a broad, soft source needs to stay shallow and lightweight.
- Interviews, drama and commercial work requiring a powerful soft key without the depth of a conventional fixture and softbox.
- Studio and location builds that need wireless CRMX or networked DMX control alongside full RGB colour.

Use it as a large source rather than just a bright one.
At roughly 4×4, the F800R can create a broad, wrapping light without needing a large external softbox. Bring it closer when you want softer fall-off rather than simply increasing output.
Rig it overhead when floor space is limited.
The 3kg light head is much easier to place above sets or talent than a conventional 900W fixture with comparable diffusion area.
Shape it to the space.
Because the mat is flexible, it can be curved around corners, mounted against ceilings or adapted to irregular surfaces where a rigid panel would be difficult to place.
Use green/magenta adjustment for difficult practicals.
The -100% to +100% range gives you useful correction when matching mixed LEDs, fluorescents or other fixtures that do not sit cleanly on the black-body curve.
Use CRMX or Ethernet on larger sets.
Built-in CRMX is useful for fast wireless integration, while Art-Net and sACN are better suited to larger networked lighting environments where many fixtures need central control.
Take advantage of the dimming curves.
Linear, S-curve, exponential and logarithmic modes let you tailor how the fixture responds around the lower and upper ends of the dimming range.
Use the built-in effects as starting points.
The F800R includes 14 FX modes such as lightning, TV, fire, welding and cop car. They are most useful when adjusted to suit the scene rather than left at default settings.
Plan power distribution properly.
With a maximum draw of 900W, the F800R is still manageable on standard location power, but multiple high-draw fixtures should be balanced across available circuits rather than grouped onto one supply.
