The Marshall CV504 is a compact Full HD POV camera designed for tight spaces, fixed rigs and discreet camera positions. It uses a 1/2.8-inch Sony sensor and outputs 10-bit 4:2:2 video over 3G-SDI, with interchangeable M12 lenses for different fields of view. Its small aluminium body, low power draw and remote control options make it useful for reality, live, specialist and hidden-camera setups.

Choose the lens for the position.
The M12 mount is one of the CV504’s biggest advantages. A wider lens works well for cramped interiors and vehicle rigs, while longer M12 options are better for tighter framing from fixed positions.
Use remote control for multi-camera matching.
RS485 and compatible control software let you adjust exposure, white balance and other settings without physically reaching the camera, which is especially useful once it is rigged into a difficult position.
Take advantage of the SDI workflow.
Direct 3G-SDI output makes the camera easy to integrate into galleries, recorders, vision mixers and long cable runs without needing an HDMI converter.
Use the low-light modes carefully.
The camera performs well in low light and includes a night mode, but test the look before relying on it for critical colour work, particularly when the IR cut filter changes behaviour.
Keep the rig genuinely small.
The body is tiny, so use compact mounts, low-profile cabling and appropriately sized lenses to preserve the advantage of the form factor.
Plan power and breakout cabling early.
The Hirose breakout carries several functions, so route and secure it before finalising the camera position to avoid placing strain on the connector.
